Course Description:

This course will equip learners to utilize the language of medicine to communicate information, in both written and verbal format, within the healthcare environment. This course will introduce medical terms and abbreviations with corresponding definitions, spelling, and pronunciation using a body system approach. Basic anatomy and physiology, pathology, and common interventions (diagnostic and therapeutic) are included to assist in understanding the structure and function of organs and systems in the human body. This intensive course requires approximately 6-8 hours of work per week.
